Alexandra Katya is an Indonesian soprano currently residing in Taipei, Taiwan. She obtained her master’s degree in Voice Performance from National Taiwan Normal University under the tutelage of Prof. Yun-Yi Chen on a full-merit scholarship. Katya previously studied under the tutelage of Joseph Kristanto Pantioso. She sang in Unpar Choir and Batavia Madrigal Singers. Katya actively participated in workshops and masterclasses conducted by Towako Sato-Schöllhorn, Hsu Wei-En, Chu Tai-Li, Korey Barett, Gábor Hollerung, Harald Emgård, and Matthias Vieweg. In 2019, Katya was chosen as one of the Indonesian representatives for the Asia Pacific Youth Choir 2019 in Hongkong and Macao. In 2020, she was invited to be the soloist in the Czech Classical Music concert held by the Czech Republic Embassy to celebrate Czech-Indonesia bilateral relationship’s 70th anniversary.

She has performed with Taipei Philharmonic Opera Studio in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana (2022), and together with Taipei Philharmonic Choir performs as a soloist in their concerts including Messiah, BBC: Planet Earth II Live in Concert, TPCC’s Japan Winter Tour Concert 2023, and in World Symposium on Choral Music Istanbul 2023, in 2024 she took a role as one of the Three Noble Orphans in Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier. Katya regularly performs as soloist in concerts as well as chorister in Taipei Chamber Singers. Besides performing, Katya is also teaching vocal; she teaches vocal privately and in TCS Institute of Choral Arts, she is also appointed as the vocal coach of AMDG Choir and Euphony Singers as well as being a guest lecturer in singing workshops. Katya actively take parts in sharing Indonesian choral works on traditional music and songs in numerous cities in Taiwan.
